The New York International Olive Oil Competition (NYIOOC) is an annual extra virgin olive oil competition founded in 2013 by Curtis Cord, the publisher of the trade journal ''Olive Oil Times.'' The 2014 NYIOOC was held April 8–10 and attracted 650 entries from 23 countries. It is the largest international olive oil competition in the United States. Extra virgin olive oil brands may be entered in the competition by any company or organization responsible for the brand in the market. This can be a farm, mill, cooperative, bottler, importer, distributor or marketer. The entry fee for the 2015 competition was $250 before January 1, 2015 (the "early registration period") and $275 between January 1 until the close of registration.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://nyoliveoil.com/faq/ )〕 In the 2015 NYIOOC there were 649 entries and 251 winners, including 18 Best in Class, 153 Gold Awards and 80 Silver Awards. Spain won the most awards (73), followed by Italy (30). The United States and Greece each won 19 awards.
